On 13 March last year the first blogs started signing up on the closed alpha release of Amatomu.com. The first ten bloggers were:

What you will also be able to deduce from this is the length of time from the beginning of development when I put my own blog in until we opened it up to testers.
Here are some basic stats, I am working on a comprehensive report that I will release next week some time
Clicks sent to SA blogs: 4,533,507
RSS entries aggregated: 173, 234
Page impressions counted: 49,538,634
User sessions counted: 19,121,354
Links between member blogs: 65,014
It has been an amazing year for all involved I think, and we have seen the SA blogosphere grow from strength to strength.
Here are a few graphs of the full year:
Page impressions per day across member blogs
Clicks per day
I’d like to thank all our supporters for the past year and Matthew Buckland, my partner in crime at the M&G Online, for the continued success of this venture. When we started it we had high hopes but there was no way we could really know the end result until we pressed that button and put it live. Since then it has been a lot of fun, the blogosphere has grown from strength to strength and we have built some great relationships along the way.
For those who haven’t voted yet, vote for Amatomu in the SA Blog Awards
