[disclaimer: I know everyone involved]
I’m going to be honest here, I don’t like listening to podcasts. That’s my personal view and I feel the same way about radio and TV too, to some extent. It must be a consequence of reading all my life or web-induced ADD.
That being said, some people will argue that we need a new podcast about digital media in South Africa and Cambrient have made one, called The Digital Edge. It is not an hour long ramble, thank goodness, and it sounds really good. Saul Kropman the host has a really cool vibe and Jarred Cinman seems to get a long with him for now.
I am on the 2nd episode making some of the er… vaguest predictions you will ever hear – mobile advertising will grow and there might be some semantic applications. I swear this is the last year I engage with the concept of the future because I am increasingly of the opinion that there are so many different things that could happen that its not worth engaging with them in much depth until they actually start happening. I am sick of the endless hype cycle of Web 2.0 and secretly am glad that there is going to be a cull thanks to the tightening of VC belts.
Go check out the podcast though, its going to be very cool once it gets rolling and its nice to see some commercial interest in creating community content, whatever that means.
